Today I recieved this in the mail:

"Congratulations!  I am writing to inform you that you have been accepted to the Fall 2006 Jenny McKean Moore Free Writing Workshop at George Washington University... Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be able to attend the course as there is a waiting list."

Yeahhh - I will be studying under one of my favorite writers - Tayari Jones.

I applied to this back in early August  - had to send a 15 page sample of my story writing and I personally know the competition for these workshops are stiff. I've seen people who weren't accepted go to the school and try to talk their way into a class (and no I'm not one of those people - but I seen dem do')

I'm workshopping a small section from my novel that I am hoping - no, that I am going to submit to various short story contests. See, another goal this year was to start submitting more.

On the flip side: today my electricity was cut off - dey claimed I ain't pay my bill - but I did it's just that no one can prove it - so it's my word against theirs. And their word may have won - but in my heart...

P.S. my lights are back on - giving me the steam I need to power my dreams (Kanye spin off).
